Our task was to create a vector illustration based on a 2D hand drawn image. Project DetailsWebsite, Identity, Illustration, & Lots more We've created a new logo and identity that would best represent us. We wanted a design that would be clever and fun. We decided to create the Duo workmark but have the icon with it change from time to time but represent things that come in pairs. We had business cards printed with the popsicle on the back and our information on the opposite side with a perforation down the center. This was for two reasons, so that one, we could have the popsicle split into two just like it would in reality. And two, so that the cards would be cost effective by only having to create one. We sat down and hand crafted some supportive imagery, the bee, cassette tape and dandelions and wove them throughout the printed piece. We wanted to add some flare in respect to the gold foil against the black but it also reflected the album topically with reference to themes such as oil vs gold and money vs nature. We are very proud of the finished product and happy to supplement their success with editorial illustrations featured on CBC Radio 3 and FFWD Weekly. The company name lent itself to some cute and playful concepts especially when it came to the business card design. The company wanted something that stood out at photography and baby trade shows / conventions so there spawned the die-cut baby foot idea (already employed as the icon in the logo). As for the site, we wanted the images to speak for themselves so we designed a full screen website using SlideShowPro. By incorporating social media applications to the website, such as twitter and Lindsey's tumblr blog, we kept in mind not only functionality but Lindsey's existing reach across the internet. The theme of the website is clean, minimalist and monochromatic as to not take away from the images that already speak for themselves. We created a identity that would reflect the class and elegance of the high end pearls being hand picked, set and sold by Kaviar. The initial brand design then moved to business cards and website, which kept the mood of the South Sea, pearls and luxury in mind. The brand would also make its way to signage, shopping bags, certificate seals, newsletters and more.
